Anambra State Former Deputy Governor's Lying In State Held In Awka


The remains of the former governor of Anambra state late Chudi Nwike,who was kidnapped and murdered by unknown gun men was brought to the government house to receive its last respect from  the state functionaries.

Specking at the state function, Anambra state governor,Peter Odili condemned the act which led to the former governors death.He however identified greed as the country's problem and that it is until it is addressed more criminal offences will be committed.

The lying in state for the maimed former governor of Anambra state at the state house,was quite a solemn one as the people still grieved so much as regards the circumstances leading to the death of the deputy governor.

Former governor, Chudi Nweke was adopted on March 19th and about some weeks after his adoption he was found dead on the 7th of April.

Dr.Nwike who was born in 1952 became the deputy governor to Dr. Chukwuemeka Ezeife    from 1992-1993 on the platform of Social Democratic Party (SDP) before the were sacked by the military.

At the occassion the officiating minister pointed out the kind of leaders we have in the country who are not ready to make any sacrifice for the betterment of the country.

For the grieved-striken governor who recounted the recent incident of air mishap which he was involved,said people should detach themselves from the things of life and face the reality of life.

He described the late governor as a good man whose death was as a result of the greed in the society.

The remains of 50 year old Nwike will be laid to rest in his country home in Ogbunike in Oyi Local Government Area of Anambra state today.
